About

Dr. Amola-Hill is the owner of V.O.I.C.E Therapeutic Solutions, a mental health agency, which opened in 2010. She is also the curriculum owner of NC-HOPE. Approved in 2016, NC HOPE facilitators have trained over 1600 peer support specialists across NC. Kemi is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a clinical Supervisor as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor.


Her academic background includes a B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a M.A. in Counselor Education from North Carolina Central and a PH.D in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University.


As a mental health professional for almost 20 years, Dr. Amola-Hill believes therapist, and peer support specialist working together can be a catalyst for change to facilitate positive results in the lives of clients. When done well the collaboration between therapists, peer support specialist and the clients they serve can have a major impact on both individuals and communities.


Dr. Amola-Hill is a staunch supporter of peer support services, and she is dedicated to affecting change in individuals and communities by providing therapeutic services and education. Dr Amola-Hill has worked collaboratively with community professionals in developing programs and curriculums designed to enhance client’s intrinsic motivation for change. Her focus in counseling begins by establishing a working relationship with clients.


This includes listening to the client's needs, goals, and expectations of the counseling process. In addition to her therapeutic work, Dr. Amola-Hill worked in HIV prevention for over 15 years. She has gained a wide range of expertise ranging from active community interventions to evaluation and research. Most notably, UNC-CH’s Center for AIDS Research often requests Dr. Amola-Hill's expertise in conducting a variety of community based professional trainings, designed to educate local, state, and national health care providers and mental health practitioners on topics related to HIV education, prevention, and risk reduction. Dr. Amola volunteers as a member of the NC Peer Support Advisory commission, the commission aims to create a stronger more robust peer work force in NC.


She is also the secretary for Resource Connections an advocacy group for minority MH/SU providers across NC. Dr. Amola-Hill serves on the Wake County Substance Use Advisory commission, the commission advocates for a healthy community by promoting best practices for the prevention, intervention and treatment of substance use. Dr. Amola-Hill currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband and three sons. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family
